🔐 Privacy Policy – JudgeDesk
This policy explains how the JudgeDesk mobile app ("the App"), developed by Sogepps, handles data.
In short
- The app has no ads, no in-app purchases and no accounts.
- The app does not connect to the internet to send data. We (the developer) cannot access any of your data; we have no server and no analytics of our own.
- Contests, contestants, judges, scores, photos and notes are stored only on your device.
- What you export, such as PDF, CSV, images, a backup file, QR codes and .jury files, goes where you choose to send it.
- The camera is used only to read QR codes between judges' phones; images are not recorded or sent. The vibration permission is for haptic feedback.
- Uninstalling the app or clearing its data permanently deletes everything.
1. We don't collect data
We (Sogepps), the developer of JudgeDesk, do not collect your personal data, do not store it on our own servers and do not share it with anyone. There is no account or sign-in in the app, and it contains no ad network, analytics tool or tracker. The app does not connect to the internet on its own and sends no data.
2. Information that stays on your device
The contest details you enter (contest name, date, venue, rules, criteria), contestants, jury members, scores, notes, appeals and photos you add are stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. This information is never sent to us.
Once you have entered data, the app may make an automatic backup on your device once a day. These backups also stay on your device, in the app's own storage.
3. Exporting and sharing
Jury minutes, score tables, certificates (PDF), CSV files, the result card image, the backup file, and the QR codes and .jury files used between judges' phones are sent only when you ask, to the place you pick in Android's share menu. These files never reach us.
When you share a file with another app or person, that app's or person's own privacy rules apply.
4. Permissions
The app uses the following Android permissions:
- Camera: only to read QR codes in order to pass the contest and scores between judges' phones; it is requested when you open the scan screen. Images are not recorded, stored or sent.
- Vibration: to give short haptic feedback when you tap buttons.
The app does not ask for location, microphone, contacts, calendar or notification permissions.
5. Contestant and judge information
You enter details such as the names, organizations and photos of contestants and jury members; they stay on your device only, and the app neither analyzes them nor transfers them anywhere. Obtaining the permissions needed to enter this information into the app (including parental or legal-guardian consent where required) is the responsibility of you, the organizer.
6. Ads and purchases
The app is free. It shows no ads and offers no in-app purchases, so it processes no advertising ID or payment information.
7. Children
JudgeDesk is a tool for contest organizers and jury members; it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The app sends no data to us.
8. Data deletion
All data stays on your device. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data in your Android settings, or using "Delete all data" in the app's Settings permanently deletes the information. There is no personal data on our servers to delete. Files you exported can be deleted by you from wherever you saved them.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy is updated, the new text is published on this page.
