๐ Privacy Policy โ Class League
This policy explains how the Class League mobile app ("the App"), developed by Sogepps, handles data. The App is made for teachers and instructors (adults).
In short
- There is no account, no server and no parent login. The classes, students, attendance, points and grades you enter are stored only on your phone; we (the developer) cannot access them in any way.
- The App has no ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking and no analytics tools.
- The App does not connect to any server on its own and does not need the internet to work.
- Permissions: microphone (only while the Noise meter is open, to measure the live noise level; sound is never recorded or sent anywhere), notifications and alarms (lesson and agenda reminders, on the device only) and vibration.
- Backup files, PDF and spreadsheet (CSV) files and parent messages go only where you send them yourself, through Android's share sheet, WhatsApp or SMS. The App never sends them on its own.
- Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data, deletes all of your data.
1. We don't collect personal data
We (Sogepps), the developer of Class League, do not collect your personal data or your students' information, do not store it on our own servers and do not share it with anyone. There is no account or sign-in in the App, and it contains no analytics system, advertising library or tracking tool of ours. The App sends no data to our servers.
2. Information that stays on your device
The classes you add, students (number, name, gender, avatar look, an optional photo, an optional parent name and phone number, short notes), attendance, behavior points, rewards, exam grades, timetable, agenda and settings are stored only on your phone, in the App's own local storage. The App also makes an automatic backup on the device once a day (the last 14 are kept); these backups also stay inside the App's own space. This information is never sent to us.
When you enter student information, it is up to you to follow your school's or institution's rules and the personal data protection laws that apply to you; the App only keeps this data on your phone.
3. Permissions and why they are needed
The App's Android manifest contains these permissions:
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO, MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS): only while the Noise meter screen in the classroom tools is open, to measure the class's live noise level. Sound is not recorded, not stored and not sent anywhere; you grant the permission the first time you use it.
- Notifications and alarms (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, WAKE_LOCK): to show lesson and agenda reminders on time and to set them up again after the phone restarts. Reminders are scheduled entirely on the device; no internet is needed.
- Vibration (VIBRATE): short haptic feedback when you give points, mark attendance, enter a grade or when the timer ends.
- Internet (INTERNET): the Android app framework the App is built on adds this permission by default. The App does not use it to send your data anywhere (see section 6).
When you choose a photo for a student, your phone's file picker opens; the App does not ask for the camera permission.
4. Sharing and exporting (only when you decide)
Backup files (JSON), PDF reports, report cards and spreadsheet files (CSV) go to the app or location you choose through Android's share sheet, and only when you tap the share button.
For parent messages, WhatsApp, SMS or the share sheet opens and the message text (together with the parent's phone number, if you saved one) is handed to that app; you review the message and send it yourself. If WhatsApp is not installed, the link may open in your browser. How those services handle messages is covered by their own privacy policies. The App never sends messages on its own and has no bulk sending.
If Android's device backup (Google backup) is turned on for your phone, the App's data may be backed up to your Google account according to your device settings. That is between your device and Google; we cannot access those backups.
5. Ads, purchases and tracking
The App is free. It shows no ads, offers no in-app purchases, does not use an advertising ID and does not track your behavior. It contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising libraries.
6. Internet access
The App works without the internet and makes no network requests of its own. Only when you tap WhatsApp, SMS or Share does the related app (or, if WhatsApp is not installed, your browser) open.
7. Children
Class League is designed for teachers and instructors (adults) and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Records about students are entered by the teacher and stay only on the teacher's phone.
8. Data deletion
All of your data stays on your phone. In the App you can delete a single student, a class or, in Settings, all data (before deleting everything the App leaves an automatic backup on the device). Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data in your Android settings, permanently deletes all data and the on-device backups. Backup, PDF and spreadsheet files you shared stay where you put them; you delete those yourself. There is no personal data on our servers to delete.
